Reaching the Nations

Dear Prayer Partners,

Understanding God's Project

When I find myself absorbed by a specific project, it is easy to lose sight of the big picture. Sometime last week, the overall perspective became crystal clear as I restated BFF's purpose during a recording: "Releasing God's Truth to a New Generation."
Suddenly, it dawned on me. God is actually enabling us to reach this new generation all around the world. I couldn't have planned it, but He has given us the means (barely) to keep up with many new innovations.

Reaching the nations

When I remembered BFF's purpose, uppermost on my mind was the training video series I am developing. Just three years ago, I could not possibly have produced the videos I am doing today. Technology is advancing at such a fierce pace that what was impossible for anyone outside a professional lab to do before, can now be done on a personal computer. Here are a few things that have recently changed.

Hard drives have greatly increased in size (and decreased in price) that can hold hundreds of videos.
Multithread computers make processing much quicker and possible.
Video making programs have become less expensive and easier to use.
Hosting videos has become very affordable. I can upload 5 gb of video each week. That is a lot of video space. (That is good because we have over 300 videos!)
Quality has increased. A few years ago the size and quality of the video was infantile. Now the industry has matured to produce quality videos for large screens or tiny ones.
Internet speeds have increased and costs have come down so that huge files can be uploaded and downloaded in hardly anytime at all.
Computer memory has become so cheap that huge files can be processed without much effort.
Invention and distribution of portable devices like smart phones and iPads along with their networking capabilities have made it possible to view videos and read the web on the go. The price of these things will continue to decrease and enable people around the world to view them.

All these things are like a huge tsunami wave carrying BFF's work forward into the hearts of people around the world.

I was talking to an old seminary professor friend a few weeks ago. We were discussing how higher level education has changed due to computers and internet. Again I was humbled to see God guiding the little BFF boat in this huge ocean. God is releasing His Word in a powerful new way to the world!

If you would like to give

Some of you would like to give financially to BFF. We always appreciate your gifts. However, we are still trying to resolve the tax-exempt issues. It is so unfortunate that this process has taken so long. I am sorry for any confusion.

If you want to be sure to receive a tax deductible receipt, write your check to PCCO (our church name) and mail it to our BFF address (below). I will put it in the church offering, and they will forward it to us through the mission department. The church will give a tax deductible receipt to you. Please call or write with any questions. We can directly process your gift if you do not care about a tax deductible receipt (then write it to BFF).

Paul was able to break through the learning curve to post two of our ebooks (ePub version) to sell on the Apple iTunes bookstore (iBook). Now on sale to six nations.
Working on the last chapter of our video course. Almost done!

The IRS wants us to fill in more forms. Hopefully this will be done by next week.
Tuesday (December 13th) is our BFF board meeting.
Allison is back from college.
The Lord spared Daniel's thumb in an accident working at his new job.
Still many projects to finish up during the closing of this year.
We need to finish planning and buying tickets for our Africa STM trip next year.
