Perspective Counts
Perspective shapes how we interpret difficulties, approach decisions, and seek solutions. This chapter contrasts a biblical outlook with assumptions absorbed from the surrounding culture. It urges believers to examine the influences entering their minds and homes and to prepare others for faithful living.
Lesson goal: Evaluate the assumptions shaping your life and training through the trustworthy perspective of God’s Word.

The needed correction is a return to God’s tested Word rather than the invention of new spiritual truths. Recognizing a danger does not automatically replace deeply rooted assumptions. Christian training should cultivate trust in God, Christlike character, and readiness to carry out His work.
Key Teaching Points
- Our perspective affects both our interpretation of problems and our proposed solutions.
- Evaluate cultural influences instead of adopting their assumptions uncritically.
- Awareness of danger must be followed by biblical training and renewed commitment.
- Return to God’s Word and expect it to shape character, faith, and service.
Scripture to Consider
Proverbs 30:5
