Protecting Motherhood

We need to see that Paul wrote these verses in 1 Timothy to protect motherhood. Motherhood will be protected only as much as individual mothers maintain that vision. In a good culture, one would be startled to even suggest that a mother would do anything but focus on being a good wife and raising godly children. However, modernists have been stripping away all sort of support for stay–home mothers. As a result few mothers have that needed vision that Paul was trying to affirm her in 1 Timothy 2. Crises in culture result from straying from God's clear truth.

Feminism strikes at the role of the woman. Paul counters it by stressing the required focus for the woman.
