Addiction and Healing
Can people be healed from drug and alcohol addictions?
The USA took another reprehensible step downwards into the blindness of darkness when the Surgeon General announced addiction is not a character flaw or moral failure (Nov 2016 - the report). This is another attempt to view this world's problems without God and treat people as if they were not made in the image of God responsible for their actions.
This false prophet disguises man's responsibility to live uprightly and hides the door of repentance to find hope in the Savior Jesus Christ.
Instead, it paints technology and medication as the real savior–though, a very poor one, stripping away any hope of real change. Yes, our response to this proposal is a moral test. Those who care for mankind dare not permanently chain precious people to a cell along with other animals, subdued by drugs. This is modern slavery and people dare not succumb to this sedation.
People can and should, by God's grace, step beyond the addiction and the evil they have caused. The Surgeon General’s remarks are another sign of demise, not only for the American people, but for people throughout the world. How long will we suffer before turning to Jesus the Healer?
Addiction might affect the chemicals in our brain but it is our minds and choices, connected to our affections, that make the repeated decisions to respond to temptation in one or more areas. Learning how temptations subtly, step by step, form a path toward addictions is essential to break their terrible affect in our lives.
Our Digital #2 Library is filled with resources to help believers learn how to overcome temptations of all sorts, including many videos, books, etc. (e.g. anxiety, anger, pride, sexual lust, etc.) along with so many other resources on how to become a strong spiritual Christian believer.
Jesus offers us all hope if we would but turn to Him, the Author of Life!
