I had no ideal home growing up! Divorces were common. Change of fathers seemed normal. The psychiatrist predicted a cloud over my life even suggesting that in all likelihood I would end up in a similar situation. He was right saying so, that is, if there was no God. The statistics for children brought up in homes like me are scary. What made a difference was the new picture of marriage and family life that God gave me.

Today with more than twenty years of marriage and eight children later, I am so excited about marriage and the family that I am teaching and writing about it. My wife and I are learning more things every year. The more committed my wife and I are to knowing and practicing the design for marriage in the Bible, the sweeter our relationship grows.
