Pray BFF Letter #272
The Countdown Begins
Dear Prayer Partners,
“Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth” (Ps 124:8).
We are always at war, but sometimes, the fight escalates. Every mission training trip seems to have its craftily–designed skirmishes, and this time is no different. Usually no harm comes, just attempts at distraction, frustration, and irritation rather than really holding things up in any significant way. “For we are not ignorant of his (Satan’s) schemes” (2 Cor 2:11).
Additional prayer is always welcomed–from all over the world. This time it took a week to overcome a terrible head cold and then it came back again. In addition to this is my Verizon account is rejecting some emails (if you get this response, just use the email at the bottom. Minor issues, but always attempting to cause me to cease praying, preparing and trusting the Lord.
All the plans are set for me to leave next Friday, April 1st–less than one week. The coordinator in Kenya is printing handouts and making final arrangements. We all need prayer coverage. On this Good Friday, we seek to die to ourselves and accomplish God’s purposes for our lives, bringing the Gospel of peace and love to everyone.
Continue to pray for the right attendees. We have cut back literal crowds of people to only pastors. But they are still–by God’s special grace–finding me. Just yesterday a pastor that leads 30-40 rural pastors in Kenya contacted me. (And literally, as I prepare this, another Bishop from that region contacted me.) We are seeking the right people with prepared hearts to be able not only to be personally trained but to be willing to train others as God wills.
Meanwhile, keep the ministry and family in prayer during these strategic times.
The new book, “The Teaching Commentary on Genesis: The Book of Foundations” (415 pp.) has now arrived to take to Kenya!
I thank the Lord that my sickness started immediately after my heavy preaching and teaching and not during and before.
Thank the Lord a good part of the financial needs are in.

- We are still seeking the remaining $2,000 for the trip.
Healing for my body and resolution for rejection of my emails.
Heart, mind, and bodily preparations for the strenuous seminar talks (40 plus).
I leave early Friday, April 1. Safety and ministry blessing at home and away.
Taxes are still being worked on (includes helping numerous children learn how to do their taxes.)
As always, thanks so much for your prayers!
