Interruption!

“Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary” (Isaiah 40:31).

Dear Prayer Partners,

Our lives are filled with interruptions. We get into routines and have certain expectations, but then other things intrude on our sphere of normalcy. I could make a very long list of recent ‘interrupters.’ Actually, having raised eight children created a certain normal anticipation of regular interruptions. In any case, let me share two. One is small and temporary though significant, while the other involves quite a bit more work.

This past Sunday I was asked to speak one of the names of God at the Pittsburgh Chinese Church in the north, the congregation I used to pastor. ‘Jehovah Rophe, The Lord Your Healer’ was my assigned topic from Exodus 15:26. It was great to speak almost 1 hour on one verse. As I prepared for this message, however, the Lord was doing some powerful teaching to my own soul.

I discovered many answers to key questions people have about healing. The Lord put it on my heart to make a mini-book with audios. Suddenly, on Monday morning, I had another new book to do, on top of the many other tasks to be done. My other projects didn’t go away, but a new one was thrown in. I give praise to God for His amazing grace to spice up my life. Although I am extremely busy, I love doing all of it. During the message, I was thoroughly glad to again share the amazing way God healed Linda of her congestive heart failure two years ago. No medications needed now.

The other challenge to my upcoming schedule will involve much more preaching. Our pastor and dear friend, Pastor Hugo, will be moving to Maryland to another church. Until we find someone else, I will take up a lot of the preaching and who knows what else. As a student church, outreach and training always remain at the forefront of what we do. Anyways, do pray for our church, located in the middle of several well-known universities, as we search for the right pastor.

As God's people, there really are no interruptions. God's will is one smooth weaving of all that He has into one good plan. We will need more grace, but He is faithful in providing all we need that His Name is glorified.

Praise!

  • The messages went well over the past weeks.

  • Editing on two books is progressing well. Hope to have passed some significant steps by our next letter.

  • This school year is over and trying to prepare the kids for the upcoming semester. Kathryn had $2,000 come in towards the $4,000. Praise God.

Pray!

  • I am preaching at our church tomorrow (on July 3rd), part of a series on 1 Peter.

  • Continued grace is needed for this summer’s intense writing and editing along with the ‘interruption project’.

  • Having a hard time getting a roofer to repair box gutters.

  • I lead and train adult Sunday School teachers. This is always a highlight, but I still need to focus on getting the curriculum ready for the Book of Mark this fall in collaboration with the other teachers.

  • Seek the Lord to continue to distribute BFF’s resources around the world–powerfully releasing God’s truth.

As always, thanks so much for your prayers!

Paul
