“Now therefore, our God,
we thank Thee,
and praise Thy glorious name”
(1Ch 29:13).

Dear Prayer Partners,

Back on American soil! It is always a great privilege to speak to God’s people around the world. First hand glimpses of God’s present work is always refreshing to my soul. This trip gave me a good history lesson in Sabah (East Malaysia) learning from a 130 year-old church on how God started the work there from missionaries who sent Christians from China to Sabah to develop the land. In all cases, it was exciting to see the great responses to the Lord’s word. Some of these Filipino pastors, pictured above, are planting churches in difficult situations.

Filipino seminar

There were several huge typhoons (ie., hurricanes) circling around my travels, but God put a wall about us, and so no big storms affected attendance or my travels. The persistent problem was my bad throat. Fortunately, in each place, I had a microphone that greatly helped (this is not always the case!). The original health problem started a week before I left, so although my voice didn’t get better, I felt stronger by time I arrived. It was funny that after my last message in the Philippines, on the way to the airport, I discovered myself humming a Christian hymn to myself. Up to this point, I could not sing or hum as I had partial laryngitis. My throat finally started to heal!

Both seminars, Initiating Spiritual Growth in the Church (10 sessions) and Knowing God: Experience and Love Him (9 sessions) were warmly received. This second course on the attributes of God is designed to help us see how God’s attributes should shape our lives.

Now, I am back in America catching up on both church (OIF) and BFF. I will be preaching for the next couple Sundays, producing audio/videos from certain messages (3 done), and preparing next year’s preaching calendar and Sunday Training curriculum.

Praise!

  • Praise God for holding my voice up during the 20 hours of speaking!

  • Thankful that all 13 flights went smoothly. Health otherwise was fine.

  • Praise the Lord! that with a check received yesterday, all STM expenses are fully covered.

  • Thank God for the many hearty responses to the challenging messages.

  • Elias, our son-in-law, has a new 3-6 month job, with possibilities for long term work.
