The Life Core
The Life Core names the Holy Spirit’s inner work of making believers more like Christ. Spiritual gifts are important, but they serve God’s larger purpose of holy living and love; gifts detached from that purpose can be misused.
Lesson goal: Identify the Holy Spirit’s sanctifying purpose and respond to Him with willing obedience.

Ignorance and hardness of heart hinder a believer’s response. Training should clarify the Spirit’s purpose through God’s Word and help believers align their attitudes and actions with Him, including willing giving and service.
Key Teaching Points
- The Holy Spirit works personally and purposefully in believers.
- Holiness and love guide the use of spiritual gifts.
- Understanding must become a willing response to God.
