A Good Start and a Great Finish
A person cannot have a good finish unless at some point there is a good start. Both are needed to build a faithful life testimony.
A Good Start (1 Samuel 11:11–15)
Saul’s early victory offered a strong beginning. The people saw God’s deliverance, the kingdom was renewed at Gilgal, and Saul was publicly confirmed as king.
A Great Finish (1 Samuel 12:1–5)
Samuel could finish his public ministry with a clear conscience. He invited the people to testify whether he had defrauded, oppressed, or taken anything from them. A life testimony is shaped not only by how we begin but by the character we maintain over time.
Reflect
- What kind of beginning has God given you?
- What choices will help you finish faithfully?
- Could those who know you testify to your integrity?
