10. Welcoming

Growth advances as believers welcome God’s truth, correction, presence, and purposes into their lives.

God generously supplies what His people need, but growth requires a responsive heart. We can resist truth, avoid correction, or protect familiar habits. Welcoming describes the open posture that receives God’s work with faith.

This posture is cultivated through humility. The believer listens, considers, confesses, and obeys. Leaders can encourage this response by teaching with grace, speaking truth clearly, and modeling teachability themselves.

Welcoming also shapes the church community. Growing believers need relationships where questions are heard, weaknesses are treated honestly, and obedience is encouraged without condemnation.
