The Life Core · Section 3

22. Our Limitations

Wise training acknowledges human limitations and depends on God while using the strengths He has distributed throughout His body.

Paul J. Bucknell

No teacher, curriculum, church, or institution can supply everything a believer needs. Time, experience, gifting, cultural understanding, and relationship are all limited.

Recognizing limitations protects leaders from pride and learners from unrealistic expectations. It encourages prayer, teamwork, referral, and the use of varied relationships within the body of Christ.

Limitations also expose the weakness of one-size-fits-all training. We need clear principles, but their application must consider the person, stage, setting, and available resources.

Core Teaching

  • Every trainer and method has real limitations.
  • Humility encourages dependence on God and cooperation with others.
  • Principles remain stable while application considers people and settings.

Reflect and Apply

  1. Which limitation most affects your present ministry?
  2. Where do you need the help of another gifted believer?
  3. What part of your training assumes that everyone needs the same approach?
