Whoever controls your mind, controls you. The power of the educational system and the place of entertainment in our modern society are greatly underestimated. For the most part, Christ's disciples are out serving others because they have not carefully discerned what has gone into their minds.
A wise person is able to see how thoughts, beliefs and actions are related to each other. Discernment is the careful analysis of what a wise person hears and sees.
In this first example, we see that Jesus associated unbelief and wrong advise as the result of Satan's whisper. Satan snuck this thought into Peter's mind. Then Peter echoed it out in these words of his.
#2) God reveals > Belief >> Right action/words
And Simon Peter answered and said, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." And Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 16:16,17).
The power and influence of the educational system and the place of entertainment in our modern society are greatly underestimated.
In this second example, we find the opposite true. Here we find Jesus affirming Peter Simon for his words. They showed that God had been speaking to Peter. Peter heard this from God and spoke it forth.
Our words and actions reveal what we believe. By examining our words and actions we can go back and with practice and help of the Holy Spirit detect our wrong beliefs. It is mandatory that we expose the lies that have been somehow planted in our minds.
Eve believed what the serpent told her even though it went against what God said. This is because it sounded better. God reproved her for eating the forbidden fruit. Our actions speaks volumes.
Worry reveals something has gone wrong in our belief about God. We have at some point devoured a set of lies. Some of these lies have been buried in our lives for many years but never detected. If you spot anxiety in your life, though, you can be sure you are missing out on seeing some wonderful way that God is caring for your life. You simply don't trust Him and therefore do not have His peace.
If you worry, you need to go back and examine what you really believe and what falsehood led you to that point. Influence what a person believes, and one can have control over that person.
Take a moment. Write down any wrong actions or anxieties that you need God to deal with. Don't be overly concerned with how to deal with them. At this point, just express your desire that God would deal with it.
