Lesson 8 of 16

The Redeemer Brings Redemption

Humanity’s need is too great for self-rescue; we need a Redeemer. Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly steps into situations people cannot solve. He delivers, protects, mediates, and provides a way through judgment. Those many pictures of helpers, saviors, priests, and kinsman-redeemers point beyond themselves to Jesus Christ. Ruth’s story, Job’s confession, the high-priestly ministry, and God’s interventions all build the expectation of One who can truly stand between guilty people and a holy God. Jesus fulfills that hope as the one Mediator and Redeemer who brings us back to God.
