The Preciousness of Redemption
The price of redemption becomes even more vivid when Scripture shows us what was offered—and where. Abraham’s willingness to give his beloved son Isaac, God’s provision of a substitute ram, David’s altar where judgment stopped, and the later temple on Mount Moriah form a remarkable line of redemptive pictures. These events teach both the preciousness of the sacrifice and the necessity of substitution. They point forward to the greatest offering: God giving His own Son. At the cross, divine love does not cancel justice; God provides the sacrifice through which judgment is averted and believers receive life.
