Lesson 12 of 16

Determined to Share His Holiness

God redeems His people to bring them near, and nearness to a holy God necessarily reshapes the way they live. Salvation is not permission to remain unchanged. Hebrews 12 pictures God as a Father who disciplines His children so that they may share His holiness. Throughout Scripture, kings, priests, prophets, and ordinary believers are called to reflect God’s character. Redemption does not make us instantly perfect, but it gives us the Spirit and a new relationship in which holiness can grow. God’s discipline, commands, and correction are therefore expressions of His purpose: He wants a people who can live in His presence, represent Him faithfully, and enjoy His blessing.
