New spiritual life is sourced in God Himself. The chapter connects being born of the Spirit with being born of God and stresses that the Holy Spirit is personal, not an impersonal force. His work moves believers toward the Father’s likeness and good purposes.

The Spirit therefore does not lead people into evil or supply power for actions contrary to God’s holiness. Believers are called to discern what He wants to do and carry it out in faith. Like rafters in a strong current, they should rely on His strength while remaining attentive to His direction.

- He is God Himself, not an impersonal force that we control.
