Touching Our LivesOvercome Anxiety: Finding Peace, Discovering God

God has given us great hope that we can overcome our worries. We do not have all the answers yet, but we can see the pathway. Even better, we are sure that God will be with us as He was with Jesus. We now want to focus on the few key lessons of this session.

• Principles

What principles were strongly impressed on you today? Circle the ones that are most significant.

  • God's standard is not to manage our anxieties but to eliminate them and replace them with His peace.

  • Worries do not help me in life; they confuse me more than clarify.
  • Worries have bad effects on my emotional, physical and spiritual life.

  • God is willing and desirous of taking us on a journey with Him to seek His peace.

  • The world's peace is different from God's peace.

  • When we begin to think about our worries, we might feel overwhelmed. That is okay. That is the truth. We can't solve the problems. That is okay. This is why He takes us on the journey. God can. solve them.

  • Jesus is our greatest example for us not to worry because He not only faced difficult tests like we do but also showed us how to rely on the Father.

• Applications

What clear decisions, plans, or confessions do I need to make because of what God spoke to me during this session?

• Testimonies

What one or two special lessons, stories, illustrations, warnings, etc. can I share with others that might encourage their faith?

  • It never dawned on me that the Lord doesn't want me to worry. It makes sense now. Why did I tolerate these worrries for so long?! I want His peace. I am ready for that journey. It sounds exciting.
