The Shepherd–Lamb relationship teaches dependence. Sheep need the shepherd for care, protection, guidance, and provision; in the same way, we are safest when we listen for Christ’s voice and remain near Him.
Jesus never fails in His care for His people. Even when we stray or face danger, the Shepherd’s presence gives a basis for peace rather than fear and anxiety.
As we receive His shepherding, we learn to become caring people ourselves—patient with weakness, attentive to needs, willing to protect, encourage, and help others toward healing and trust.
