Romans 12:9-21, A Handout

Romans 12:9-21: PRINCIPLES OF CHRISTIAN GROWTH

In response to God's majestic glory
shown in Romans 11:33-36,
we must submit ourselves to Him.

God's Love Principles versus Man's Life Principles

Let love be without hypocrisy.
"But what if I don’t really love them?"

Devoted to prayer.
"But I’m just a new Christian!"

Abhor what is evil.
"But then I can't watch my programs!"
Contributing to the needs of the saints.
"But I got my own needs to take care of."
Cling to what is good.
"But I only sometimes have devotions."
Practicing hospitality.
"But isn't getting better than giving?!"
Be devoted to one another in brotherly
love.
"But can’t I just be nice?"
Bless those who persecute you.
"But you gotta be kidding!"
Give preference to one another in honor.
"But I like to be noticed."
Bless and curse not.
"But I can't stand them."
Not lagging behind in diligence.
"But I can’t be like ..."
Rejoice with those who rejoice.
"But I don't feel happy."
Fervent in spirit.
"But I must not get carried away!"
Weep with those who weep.
"But I have enough of my own sorrows."
Serving the Lord.
"But I am very busy."
Be of the same mind toward one another.
"But he just is not my kind of person."
Rejoicing in hope.
"But you don’t know what I’m facing!"
Never pay back evil for evil to anyone.
"But I owe it to him!"
Persevering in tribulation.
"But it’s my nature to give up."
